Karina Montanez brings warmth and a cheerful spirit to the PFRANKMD team, making her a valued member of our patient care family. Her journey into the medical field began during the height of the COVID-19 pandemic, where she worked as an administrative assistant managing patient testing processes. Inspired to deepen her contribution to healthcare, Karina earned her phlebotomy certification and served as a COVID-19 tester, developing a passion for helping others in their health journeys.

Following the pandemic, Karina gained experience as a receptionist at Weill Cornell Medicine in urology and later in pediatric ophthalmology at OPTUM, where she developed a profound appreciation for working with children and families. Her commitment to ensuring every patient feels cared for and supported is at the heart of her role.
A lifelong New Yorker from Manhattan’s Lower East Side, Karina is deeply motivated by her personal experiences, including the loss of her father in 2022, which drives her to learn more about medicine and patient care. Outside of work, Karina enjoys exploring New York City’s vibrant food scene, traveling with her childhood best friend, and spending time with her loved ones.
