JAWLINE FILLERS
Reclaim your youthful profile without surgery with a jawline filler treatment at PFRANKMD. With this facial balancing technique we are able to give our patients slimmer proportions, enhanced definition, and natural results to the jawline and the chin. Expert dermatologist Dr. Paul Jarrod Frank is a legacy provider of injectable cosmetic treatments beginning from their earliest days and has developed proprietary treatment methods that maximize their benefits. After 25 years and thousands of treatments, Dr. Frank is a ‘sommelier” of dermal fillers, pairing exactly the right filler or combination of fillers to replace lost volume in jawline and create contours, lift and a refined profile.
How Do Jawline Filler Treatments Work?
Jawline filling procedures performed by Dr. Frank use injections of dermal fillers such as Juvéderm or Restylane that contain hyaluronic acid or Radiesse, which contains calcium hydroxyapatite. The injections of filler are administered along the patient’s jawline to replace lost volume, create a lifted appearance, define contours, or improve symmetry. Dr. Frank may use more than one type of filler based on his assessment of the patient’s age, facial anatomy, skin type and unique jawline characteristics.
Candidates for Jawline Fillers
Patients who have a less prominent or poorly defined jawline, have diminished volume in the area or have mild skin laxity may benefit from Jawline fillers. A consultation at PFRANKMD will ensure compatibility with dermal fillers and that the potential for results aligns with the patient’s expectations and aesthetic goals. Through this process the patient will have a comprehensive understanding of the procedure and the details of their proposed treatment plan.
The Procedure
The procedure for jawline filling is short in duration, usually less than hour. The treatment area is prepared with an antiseptic that also serves as a topical anesthetic and Dr. Frank will then use a fine gauge needle to administer the filler injections along the jawline.
Recovery and Results
The recovery period following jawline filler procedure is minimal, mild bruising, swelling or redness may occur and is usually no longer present within few days. Most patients can immediately return to their daily activities. To minimize the occurrence of swelling, patients should avoid strenuous physical activity, and excessive heat or sun exposure for 24 to 48 following treatments.
To avoid the filler settling unevenly, patients should keep their head in an upright position for a period of four to six hours following treatment. The first night following the procedure patients should sleep in a position that avoids pressure on the injected areas.
The degree of visible results immediately after treatment varies among fillers and patients. Radiesse injections produce more immediate results of volume replacement that continue to emerge with increased collagen. Restylane and Juvéderm injections have results that appear more gradually as hyaluronic acid settles in to increase and maintain hydration.

FAQs
Can I Combine Jawline Fillers with Other Treatments?
Yes, jawline filler treatments can be combined with other facial rejuvenation procedures, Dr. Frank can discuss those options during your consultation, or contact the office and a PFRANKMD team member can provide help with general questions.
How Long do Jawline Fillers Last?
The duration of results for dermal fillers varies based on the specific product used, and individual patient factors of skin structure, metabolism, age, and lifestyle. Hyaluronic acid-based fillers such as Restylane and Juvéderm last six to twelve months. Calcium hydroxyapatite-based fillers, such as Radiesse also stimulate collagen production and last twelve to eighteen months.
Why Not Use the Dermal Filler Known to Last the Longest?
Experienced injectors know that would only make sense if the duration of the results were more important than the aesthetic quality of the results. The choice of filler should be based on patient compatibility and achieving a natural-looking enhancement.
Are Jawline Fillers Reversible?
Fillers containing hyaluronic acid are reversible with an injection of hyaluronidase, an enzyme that will dissolve the filler. In the rare instances in which this occurs either by medical necessity or the patient’s preference it is important to note that experience in reversing the effects of dermal filler is essential to minimize the potential for a negative outcome.
