Nutrition and Exercise Counseling

Nutrition

As a growing body of research has shown, a strong connection exists between what you eat and how well your body fights disease or handles the effects of aging. The content of your diet affects hormone production in your body, which in turn impacts your body’s ability to combat free radicals, a major cause of cancer and other age-related diseases.

Free radicals are the by-products of cells that are generated during the body’s natural metabolic process. They can potentially damage the DNA in your cells and increase one's susceptibility to cancer. Many factors contribute to the levels of free radicals in your body, including your diet, your lifestyle and your genes.

Two of these are variables that you can directly control to improve your health. At Youth Diagnostics™, Drs. Macaulay and Frank, along with a team of experienced specialists, help men and women analyze their body composition and understand their unique susceptibility to free radicals. We do it by measuring hormone production levels in your bloodstream to determine which substances may be particularly high or low, putting you at greater health risk.

Drawing from our extensive knowledge and expertise in medical and aesthetic therapies, we then help patients create a comprehensive and tailored regime of nutrition, exercise, and hormone treatments that can help achieve an optimal hormonal balance and promote good health. For example, if a patient has high levels of homocysteine in their bodies, we may prescribe antioxidant supplements to lower concentrations and reduce the chances of health problems linked with honocysteine. Other antioxidant supplements we use include glutathione, vitamins B, C and E, coenzyme Q10 and alpha-lipoic acid - all of which help improve your skin for a youthful look and prevent arteries from hardening. In tandem with our hormonal treatments, our experienced nutritionist provides professional counseling to help patients craft an optimal diet and an exercise routine by monitoring your diet and offering recommendations for improving your health.

Exercise

Exercise has countless benefits for one’s health. We urge our patients to work out regularly, as exercising is key to sharpening the functions of your body - nature's most amazing tool. Exercise can naturally regulate hormone production levels, such as the release of growth hormones from the pituitary gland, which is good for your overall health. Weight-lifting can also be beneficial for bone density, while cardio workouts, obviously, are good for the heart. At the same time, an infinite number of exercises exist for staying in shape - no single workout is the best for everyone, with a wide diversity of body shapes, fitness levels, capabilities, and metabolism. At Youth Diagnostics™, we offer personalized exercise consultations, which include helping you find the workout regimen that will produce the most optimal effects for your health while improving the shape of your body.
