Thermage® NXT
From the people who developed the first non-invasive skin tightening device, the Thermage® procedure now has specific application to the problems of cellulite. With the new, upgraded NXT system, Thermage® utilizes Radio-Frequency energy - the same heat and energy of radio waves that surgeons have used in surgery to stop bleeding for decades. While cooling the top layer of the skin with a unique and effective cryogen device, Thermage® uses this heat and energy to immediately change the quality of circulation and soft tissue irregularities involved in cellulite. Treatment session can range from 30 -90 minutes depending on the sites treated. Often patients are pre-medicated to comfort with mild non-intravenous sedation. Our state of the art, accredited surgical facility caters to the comfort and safety of our patients. Thermage® NXT delivers the radio-frequency energy through a small contact tip which has three phases- cooling, energy delivery, and again -cooling. Patients leave the office looking and feeling normal and there are no restrictions in activity afterwards. The energy is unaffected by skin pigment, so patients with darker skin can be treated without an increased risk. Final results are achieved as early as one week, or on average, 3 to 4 months. Depending on the severity of the area treated, additional treatments may be necessary; but most often only one is needed. VelaSmooth™
The VelaSmooth™ was the first FDA approved treatment for the effective treatment of cellulite. Powered by the revolutionary elos™ combined energy technology, bi-polar radio frequency, infrared light, massage and suction safely and effectively re-contour the skin surface. The VelaSmooth™ is a clinically proven, effective solution for the lumpiness, puckering and skin irregularities that are seen in over 80% of women.
VelaSmooth™ reaches deep enough into the fat tissue to effectively improve the appearance of cellulite. The light energy first pre-heats the treatment area. Simultaneously, a gentle suction and massage aids in the deep penetration of the radio-frequency energy- redistributing and increasing the metabolism of the fat and connective tissue. In addition to re-contouring of the skin’s surface, the VelaSmooth™ also provides the added benefit of improved circulation, supporting overall health.
The Elos™ technology requires lower overall energy levels for superior results and maximum safety. Most people experience no side effects at all, though a few exhibit short-term reddening or bruising of the treatment area. Treatments feel like a deep massage and require no patient downtime or sedation. The average treatment time for the buttocks and thighs lasts 30 minutes. The procedure is performed by our trained staff and all patients are evaluated and monitored by Dr. Frank. Other potential areas for treatment are the abdomen, flanks, and arms. Recommended treatment protocol is usually 2 times a week for 6-8 weeks depending on severity and desired endpoint. The frequency of treatment is somewhat flexible depending upon a patient’s availability. Maintenance treatments are sometimes necessary a few times a year to enhance and maintain effects.
