The 5th Avenue Dermatology Surgery & Laser Center is a state of the art, surgically accredited facility that has been open since 2001. We are accredited through AAAHC (Accreditation Association for Ambulatory Health Care) which certifies and monitors safety standards for patients and staff across all surgical specialties. New York is among many states taking measures to ensure quality improvement in health care and the protection of public safety. In July 2007, the State of New York passed a law mandating that all doctors performing office-based surgery requiring certain levels of anesthesia or sedation have their offices reviewed and accredited or face penalties from the state medical board. Make sure your surgeries are performed in an accredited facility. It is a matter of safety and it is the law.
